“Boots On The Ground” Speaker Series

Michigan’s Economy is at a crossroads. The Woke Democrats want Michigan to pattern itself in the manner of California, New York and Illinois rather than Texas, Florida and other states that are growing their economies….. and their populations.

Each state can distinguish itself from their 49 competitors with prudent, fiscally sound policies that promote economic growth. The means to compete include energy and other regulations, tax policies, targeted subsidies, and public education.

Our focus must be the economic health of Main Street Michigan. If Main Street Michigan is suffering, then the rest of the area is sure to follow. Although President Biden wants to claim the nation’s economy is the best in the world, it has failed to trickle down to Michigan. Our statewide income tax rate will rise 0.2% in 2024 as our state population drop “forces” leadership to place additional burdens on the electorate. Are we looking at another one-state recession like the 1990s with our last Democrat governor?

Our expert guests:

Gregg Pakela – Nationally known utility expert. Noted for economic analysis addressing Public Service Commission regulatory proposals and policies. Work in both regulatory and non-regulatory environments have provided Gregg a unique perspective of public policy and private sector investment. We look forward to his deep dive into power mandates and ideas for mitigating the risks to our economy.

Karla Wagner – Founder and Executive Director, Karla is initiator of a citizen’s initiative for the elimination of state and local government’s ability to tax and seize real property in Michigan. Karla’s background as a small business owner, real estate agent, residential builder and in tax preparation have prepared her to examine where tax policies have become unbalanced towards government and impair economic growth.
